Coco Gleam: Happy Friday. Submitting my finished “assignment” to you. This is a beauty salon on Sunset Blvd in area code 323 not 310. I’ve got a thing for floor-to-ceiling homes and buildings. There’s four more pictures after this one. Enjoy.

Coco Gleam: as always I’m posting pictures of L.A. that’s hardly seen in Tumblr land. This is Micheltorena looking north toward Sunset Blvd in the neighborhood of Silver Lake. I meet up with BobN around this area for our hill runs. We’d rather run up hills instead of doing interval runs we feel like a turtle when doing intervals) and we feel that running up hills burns more calories. I could be wrong about that and if I am…so what.

Coco Gleam: no red door picture but will a blue door do? I found out why people have red front doors but is there any significance for a blue door? One more question just by looking at this house in Silver Lake you know it’s not a Craftsman-style or a Manor house, so what is it? Why were these types of homes built in around the 1920s in L.A., Long Beach and in O.C.? Just curious

-12/29/11, city: los angeles neighborhood: Silver Lake at the north part of Maltman Ave

CocoGleam: this picture of this apartment on Maltman Ave didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to be and this is the least blurry shot of this apartment. It’s a real nice mid-century design apartment and I’m guessing yuppies/guppies and people who work in The Biz live in this apartment. Check out the next posting why I took this picture.

CocoGleam: there’s a photographer who has a book published of windows she took at night. She was fascinated by the blue glow and here I thought I was the only one when I look and walk by a house or apartment.

JenT and Tom3: For your weekend run go to White Pass. Run someplace different. You might have a good running time in two weeks. One more thing - you’re welcome. Now you see why I don’t post real names on my bulletin board. I’m still puzzled why personel department/human resources gotta check up on social websites. Don’t they have better things to do like make sure our benefit packages are in order?

CoffeeFix2 and John12: Hi. It’ll be a nice weekend here in l.a. but for a change I’d go Lake Tahoe because I’m actually craving to be where there is snow…for a day. Have a nice weekend.

JP OutsideHitter: here’s my sunset picture for the week…What USA Volleyball beach office sees in Huntington Beach. Lucky devils(or lucky spikers) to get a great view from their office.

JackB3: see the time of Novak and Andy Murray’s semi-final match? When I run a marathon I want my first finishing time to be 4:18. You still interested in running a full marathon? Have a good weekend.

JackB3: Novak won and watching the Australian Open for us here in L.A. and O.C. for us wrecks our sleeping schedule…wait a second - do the two of us ever get any sleep? Good luck Novak!

Chai Chi - Friday night greetings to you. Laughed at your tweets. Melbourne had fireworks earlier this week. We missed it! I’ve got to take at least one decent firework shot like this one even though I think this photographer was trying to get in the right place to take a better shot…at least that’s what I think when I look at this shot.

Farmers market, Chinatown or just coffee this weekend? Have a good weekend!

Mat2 and GregD: another day of no editorialtoon and a picture of President Obama’s rally at Disney World, but most importanly because I’m a pyrotechnic fan…fireworks!

Hollywood Studios - Rock The Night
I went to the special showing of Rock The Night Fireworks Spectacular at Hollywood Studios. This display was put on because President Obama gave a speech at Magic Kingdom the same day. I decided to get an off angle view so I could capture the entire width of the show. It was so wide, I had to switch to ultra-wide lens after it started. Some of the highlights are blow out because of this lens, but I still like this view. Also, Mulch, Sweat and Shears gave a great music performance before and during the show. flickr member - spreadthemagic

Jill and Tammy - Happy Friday and it’s still National Chocolate Day. Busy day tomorrow for me: I start out in 818, go to 310 after that 213/323 and then back to 818.

One more thing…become a KCRW member!!
